It’s always exciting to be a part of a large scale project, especially one that can positively impact so many lives. When we were presented the opportunity to work with AxelaCare on their Kansas City corporate office, we could not wait to get started.AxelaCare is a company started by a group of medical professionals dedicated to improving the care system for patients with hemophilia, which requires patients to receive frequent blood replacement therapies. To lessen the burden of an already troublesome disorder, AxelaCare set up a system allowing patients to receive regular treatments in the comfort of their own home. With offices and locations across the country, the altruistic company quickly became a national force to be reckoned with. Recently, the founding partners decided that the corporate headquarters, located just outside of Kansas City, needed a new, more refreshing look. And so, together with GSW and general contractor Jeff White, Spaces Inc set off to design a space plan for the 45,000 square foot office. The team was tasked with turning a dark, compartmentalized office into a collaborative open floor plan with plenty of shared surfaces and flooded with natural light.Creating a place for over 150 employees to work, the completed design included 32 private offices, more than 120 workstations and a common lounge space large enough for the whole staff. Spaces Inc used incredible products from Knoll, including the Reff design tables from Graham Design, Global Accord chairs, SQ1 designs, DIRTT walls throughout and more.Take a look at the gallery for a more comprehensive idea of this rewarding project.
