Project Profile: UNMC Oakview Clinic

In June of 2013, Spaces completed a project with UNMC Oakview Clinic. This innovative 8000 square foot clinical space was built with the help of RDG and the Graham Group in order to create an ergonomic modern space.

The UNMC Oakview Clinic worked with facilities and clinic administration to select DIRTT sliding doors which frees the design from the oppression of swinging doors. The sliding doors also contain a quiet closing mechanism to insure optimal privacy to patients.Taking a step into the exam room, ergonomic improvements were made with Knoll’s height adjustable tables. These tables create a flexible workspace by adapting to the changing office environment. The tables minimize operator fatigue as well as discomfort and allow users the freedom to move freely throughout the day.

Knoll’s ergonomic furniture was installed into the lobby area as well as into the workspace to add effective solutions. The chairs chosen for the waiting room provide maximum comfort and convenience to all patients. Soft lines and lightweight design provide a clean and simple style.

The lobby artwork was installed to create an eye pleasing ambiance as well as promote happiness through the use of colors. The art is displayed in many places throughout the clinic with an emphasis in the waiting room for optimal patient comfort.UNMC Oakview Clinic is ecstatic with their new space completed by Spaces and DIRTT. The clinic’s new and improved look coincides directly with what it practices - innovation and health!
