Practicing good ergonomics is all about maintaining health in ways you don’t often think about. For the healthcare industry, this is incredibly important for the nurses and doctors who are helping patients with their health everyday. Spaces, Inc. loves creating ergonomic design solutions for the healthcare industry and completed the 8,000 square foot design of UNMC’s Oakview Clinic in June 2013. Spaces worked with contractor Graham Group and architect RDG to complete this project.
Spaces helped UNMC design and choose ergonomic solutions for the exam rooms, nurse stations and lobby. UNMC wanted smart wall technology and Spaces worked with the facilities management and clinic administration to choose DIRTT sliding doors instead of contractor doors. The sliding doors offer modular solutions for future exam room rearrangement and have embedded technology options.
In the exam rooms, Spaces used GlobalCare, Peter Pepper and Furniture Lab products to create height adjustable tables and ergonomic tools to keep doctors and nurses healthy while doing their work. In the lobby area and hallways, Spaces selected Knoll furniture and textiles to match the color schemes requested by UNMC. Additionally, Spaces chose artwork that matched these textile choices and created a welcoming atmosphere in the clinic.
